St Joseph’s College is very fortunate to have its own indoor heated swimming pool which is regularly put to good use by the whole school

St Joseph's College swimming pool provides a number of different water sports activities such as swimming, life-saving and personal survival, canoeing and kayaking.

Pupils make good use of the pool for fitness and fun with many pupils achieving a high level of swimming ability by the time they leave the school.

Swimming and life-saving are delivered as part of the GCSE PE syllabus, with many students perfecting their technical skills to achieve high marks.

Pupils have the opportunity to compete against a range of schools in regular galas, where they develop their speed and strength in the water. All pupils have the opportunity to compete for their House through intra-galas and they enjoy the experience of individual races, relays and fun races such as the t-shirt relay!
