A major thrust of our teaching is to give the children an awareness of life outside the security and privilege of our school environment and to help them appreciate the difficulties some people may have in the things we take for granted.
Fundraising, whether for CAFOD, which takes place in the Autumn Term at Harvest time, or for other charities we support, helps to raise this awareness and develop empathy for those in need. We regularly support the overseas work of CAFOD as well as the local needs of Reading, through our connection with Sister Joseph and the Churches in Reading Drop-in Centre (CIRDIC). Other charities are supported through fundraising throughout the year.
